This first piece by Ellen Goodman is very hard to follow. It seems like she was so pissed when she was writing it that her brain was going a lot faster than her hands and she couldn't get the full sentence out before hitting the "."(.)

Meghan Daum is an easy read... She raised a few good points what with the "fed lines" bit and had a good contrast with pro's and con's about the show. I also think that this show makes a facinating case study...

The McFarland piece is in extreem opposition to the Goodman piece. Painting the show in a good light she defends the "leaders in the group and even gives replay times if you missed the first couple shows. I also like how she introduces some of the kids by photo, although they are all Seatle natives, such as she.

I like that McDermott commented on a piece that we already read. I also agree with her that a lot of the negative publications about the show were probably way over blown (to go along with the ongoing problem of over parenting). I wonder weather any of these writers saw the whole show through to the end?

There was a lot of refference to lord of the flies but lets not forget that there were plenty of young people who have done tremendous things for government, case and point, Pharaoh Tutencamun (King Tut, 18 when kinged), and that ten year boy from India working on a cure for cancer!

So I've been getting home extreemly late for the past week and a half. Last night when I got home, I was too tired to fall asleep right away so I turned on the Discovery channel and there was this new show called "The Human Body" and the episode was all about the evolution of sex. When I watched it I kept in mind all of the things we have talked about in class and I realy think that the might have finaly gotten things right. First they took MRI'd a man and woman during sex to get a 3-d perspective of what happens during intercourse, then they went into how the evolution of the human body has differed from other species due to that fact that we stand up. Commenting on the boys only briefly, they spend a lot of time on how women's bodies are so profoundly amazing and worhty of worship! Also stating one of my favorite Vagina Happy facts from the Monologues. "The clitoris has twice the number of nerve endings as the penis." (who needs a hand gun when you have a semi-automatic!)

And now back to your normaly scheduled life...
